Portland Parks: Washington Park

Yesterday Ruby and I ventured to a park on the west side. Being that we live on the east side, we don't usually don't go that far just to go to a park. But I would definitely go back to Washington Park again!

The park its self is pretty small, which is great when you have a toddler running around and having you spinning in circles, but it's not too small that you are confined to one area with a bunch of kids you want to get away from. There's not a lot of grass, but awesome squishy padded ground in case someone falls or a teetering toddler is learning to walk. There's a ton of park equipment; swings, slides, etc. so there's never whiney kid begging to go on something another kid is already on. Also, there is a sand pit, so bring your shovels & pails!

Washington Park is right next to the Oregon Zoo & the Portland Rose Garden. So it's in a pretty popular hood. It's easy to find once you find your way down the winding hill. Ruby had a ton of fun with her kiddo friends & I got to relax and chat with my friends while they were playing. Life is good.

This is one of my favorite Ruby poses. She squishes her arm against her cheek & gives the sweetest eyes. How am I EVER going to say no to her with that face?

Thing I Love (& you should too!)

This week's Things I Love was inspired by a recent video that some of you have might already seen. I watched it on the Today show this week & it got me thinking about love. The video was also shot in Portland, so that adds a little extra specialness!

THIS VIDEO: I bet you $20, no $100 you won't cry when you watch this video! The best proposal I have ever seen. Also, Ruby danced around the living room to this Bruno Mars song.

THIS FORK: What a cute idea. I've always thought up different proposal idea's in my head. I often think I would be an amazing event planner or someone to give advice to guys who are about to propose to their girlfriends. So if any of you readers are about to get engaged, send your man this way!

THIS PIECE OF ART: I love hot air balloons. Someday I will go up in one and see my beautiful city from a different view. This handmade print on Etsy would be adorable for any wall in my house or even in a baby's room.

THIS WOOD BLOCK ART PRINT: I love Portland. You should too! This wood block art print would be great for our living room, up high on a special shelf.

THIS DRESS: How beautiful is this white vintage wedding dress. I didn't wear white when Christian and I got married, I had always pictured myself wearing a dark dress. But this is beautiful for someone who is having a traditional ceremony.

It's a beautiful night
We're looking for something dumb to do
Hey Baby
I think I wanna marry you

Oh my!

Oh my gosh, is summer vacation here yet? I feel so overwhelmed with the last few weeks of homework, studying and cramming everything in from this past semester that I am just left exhausted. On top of that, Ruby and I have had a lot of play dates this week, so we've been up and out of the house early. So when I get home, try to pick up the house, feed, bathe and put Ruby to bed, I still have to stay up and study. This often means I am up until at least midnight, sometimes even later. Ruby was going to sleep around 7 a few weeks ago, but her naps have been very irregular lately so the week she's been staying up until at least 9...I am exhausted as I write this, so I will just leave you with pictures until I have enough energy to write.

PS. Ruby will officially be 15 months old tomorrow!
